essays & fee waivers

I know I am not the only one having a hard time with these, but that doesn't make me feel any better. The most difficult thing is choosing what to write about. I can think of at least 5 great topics for each question asked. So far I have pretty well written drafts for 3 of the 4 Columbia essays. The huge uncertainty that haunts me is that all 3 of them are not related to my professional career. One is about a cross cultural transition, the other speaks to a passion for community service, and the last one tells a story about me as a teenager. I have been told over and over again that it is important to have a clearly stated flow of logical thought as well as a subject that will set me apart from the rest of the applicants. I am confident that all three of the drafts follow those guidelines, yet I keep on going back and forth trying to decide whether to re-write one of them. Obviously the LT/ST goals essay will be entirely related to work experience and given that in length it is almost as long as all three of the remaining essays I think I might be ok with my current subjects? This is driving me crazy. I wish someone would just sign off on my subjects and tell me that they are fine. *sigh*

I got an email from Tepper on Friday congratulation me on my GMAT score and offering an application fee waiver if I wanted to apply. Do they send these out to everyone with a certain GMAT? I already had an interview with them the day of the World Fair, could this be related? I guess since it is a freebee I should give it a shot, right? So many questions - so little answers.

I am off to see Green Street Hooligans.

Congrats on the GMAT score. I didn't get one from CMU, but I did get waivers from a few other schools.
