It has been a month since my last post?

I have no concept of time these days yet somehow I get myself to the necessary classes, meetings, and presentations.
I am scared to jinx myself but so far classes have been fairly easy. Granted there is an overwhelming amount of assignments that take entirely too long to complete and are essentially a tiny portion of the final grade but as far as the material covered I am a bit surprised that I know most of the stuff from my past life. For the three midterms I have taken to date I received raw scores of 94%, 90%, and 100%. Two of those are well above the mean and the third is slightly above the average. The crazy thing is that I really don't care about the grades! That being said, the first two finals in Strategy Formulation and Managerial Statistics are coming up on Monday and Tuesday and of course I am in the library trying to catch up on all the readings and practice problems I should have been doing throughout the semester. I really liked both of the professors (one of them is our McDreamy) for those classes and it's a bit sad that those courses are over and will be replaces by two new half-term classes next week.
I finally stopped obsessing about my resume and uploaded it to the Career Services site a whole week before the deadline. Next up is the cover letter, which I am dreading writing because I think it is utterly pointless and since hardly anyone actually reads it, it can only hurt you.
Being a Social Rep for the cluster is more work than I had anticipated but it is super fun. In the last few weeks we have gone bowling, had a karaoke night, an evening cocktail event to say thank you to our orientation peer advisors, girls' and boys' nights out, a trip to the taping of the Late Show with Dave Letterman, and lots more. Next weekend is the big Paintball event - I cannot wait!
Back to regressions and sampling...good luck to everyone applying R1 or ED!

Good to hear that you are gainfully busy and that things are not too hard for you. Second term in the emba is pretty difficult since I lost all motivation after the first block of classes. Midterm are this coming week. I'm heading for NYC this afternoon. Good luck with stats and strats finals.

regressions and sampling, eh? That is what I am studying in my research methods course at Columbia as well.

For my MA thesis, I am meeting with the market research professor on Monday, Oded Netzer in Uris. Have you taken his class? If so, can you throw out any topics for a market research thesis? Because I have next to no clue what to write about.

I probably haven't seen you around campus. I am probably out of bounds asking this, but is your Columbia apt on Riverside Drive? I just moved to a UAH apt on Riverside Drive.

Our last final is on Dec 15th. We are off until Jan 9.

It looks like the only days the Administration has off are Dec 25, 26, 29 and Jan 1. But to make sure the Career Service office is open I would call them at (510) 642-8124. I could do it for you or drop by their office but you are a big girl and you may have other questions. ;) If you have any questions about our career services let me know.
