Happy Holidays!
To be honest, I have attempted to write something in here several times over the past two months, but each time I got to the "Create a post" page I got overwhelmed with all the other little things I should be doing instead and I clicked the little red X in the top right corner, promising myself to get to it later.
Time flies and I cannot believe that I am already a quarter of the way done with the program. The first semester was definitely tough and stressful in terms of time management but I think that figuring how to live in that kind of atmosphere has taught me a lesson I couldn't have learned otherwise. As far as classes go, my biggest surprise was the Marketing Strategy course. I thought Marketing was all fluff and was pleasantly surprised seeing all the numbers pop up throughout the course. I am looking forward to the Managing Marketing Programs class in the spring.
I am back in San Francisco for the break though so far it doesn't feel like vacation because all I have been doing is dropping resumes and cover letters. I took advantage of the reciprocity program we have with other business schools and visited the career services at Haas last week to get some Bay Area internship listings. In a week I have an appointment to do the same at Stanford so hopefully some good contacts will come out of all these trips. I received two unsolicited invitations to interview from companies flipping through our resume books and am trying to schedule those. It definitely feels nice to be wanted. I am jealous of all the people who already have interviews and even more envious of all those people that have offers. My goal is to be done with applying by the end of 2006 and celebrate by going to Hawaii for 5 days. I definitely need a vacation.
Speaking of vacations, Spring Break in Brazil is all booked with AMAZING housing in Floripa and a super cheap flight. It just so happens that my birthday falls in the middle of the trip so needless to say I will be celebrating in style!
Happy Holidays, everyone!

Can we go to Brazil now??? It could be like semester abroad...LOL
Floripa got awesome surf spots. The LBS crowd is also heading to Brazil for spring break. I have not decided whether I'll join as well yet.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!! hope you have fun in brazil
Happy Holidays, and wish u a great birthday!!!!
Well there's also a trip to Japan at the same time.
Wait, is it also your bday? When?
Never mind, your bday is during spring break. Sudha's post got me all messed up. lol.
Hey lady, happy holidays! Can you believe we're 1/4 done? Aah! enjoy your time in SF.
Happy holidays to you also. I've come to the conclusion that B-school is just crazy. They throw you in and you swim your rear-end off because you've got no alternative. I guess its good practice for business. Good to hear you are taking advantage of Haas... Go Bears!
What industries are you interested in working in when you graduate?

I actually met someone from your program at one of our Happy Hours, very cool guy. I am targeting biotech and pharma but at this point I am pretty open to anything.

hola..long time. just caught up on your blog. seems like you're having a blast at columbia!
i didn't know you were looking at biotech and pharma. im meeting some folks at a biotech firm in SF tomorrow. it's such a pain! i should *not* be doing stuff like that during my vacation!
