Year One, Term Two
Back to school. The J-Termers are here and the class of 2008 is officially complete. Happy hour was packed and every girl was checking out the new boys on the block. It appears that the J-term clusters are about 85% male so all the single girls are on the prowl!
So far I like my classes much better this semester; I am taking mostly core courses but did manage to squeeze in two electives. Here is what my schedule looks like:
Decision Models (1/2 term) - so far my least favorite class (partially due to its 9am occurrence)
Managerial Accounting (1/2 term) - will take second term
Capital Markets and Investments (elective) - this class is going to kick my butt and I am possibly already lost. The prof seems great through and it will be nice to learn something brand new. Additionally, I finally have a class with AxeChick!!!
Managing Marketing Programs (1/2 term) - I really enjoyed last semester's marketing strategy class and looking forward to this one.
Leadership (1/2 term) - second term
Operations Management - the old vice dean is teaching the course and it promises to be the best class of the semester.
Healthcare marketing: from start-up to multinationals (elective) - this class is really small (I think only 15 students) and I am very excited to get to know the prof and my classmates. Our first case study is on Cialis, Viagra, and Levitra :)
Not too many news on the internship front. Two interviews down, four more scheduled so far in the coming weeks, still one known offer.

wow seems to me like your are going to learn a lot about ED?! ;-)
Your schedule looks very interesting and packed. Congrats to finally getting into the same class with a fellow blogger, I hope you two will have a lot of fun together and will update us whenever you find the time.
Since you are taking a Healthcare marketing class, does that mean you are leaning towards the Healthcare sector? I remember you mentioning something like that a while back i think.
I also wish you all the best with your upcoming interviews and good luck boy hunting, in case you will join the "prowl". (way to add more to your workload...haha)
later
Congrats on your offer; good luck on your upcoming interviews! =o)
Oh, btw, how was Maui? I'm trying to plan a spring break trip and Maui was one of the options, but I don't know anything about it. Is there stuff to do for 7 days?
good luck with the job interviews.
your schedule looks pretty packed i should say. but considering that most of those are subjects which you seem to like, i am guessing it would be a lot of fun. but probably you will vanish from blogosphere again due to possibly hectic schedules, is it ?
Wait, you're actually looking forward to your Ops Mgmnt class??? Wow.
Cool that you have an offer. Is it with that company you worked with over last summer?
Hey! Oh, favorite brunch place - that's really difficult! I'd recommend Sarabeth's East or Jane to start though, they are quite good.
Thanks for the Maui tips! We're officially going there (booked flight and everything) and I can't wait!
Interviews are going well - I am doing both finance and marketing, we'll see what happens! I went to a Superday yesterday though and met some Columbia ppl, and I thought of you =o).
Thanks - I'm so glad I'm done. :)
Hope the interviews went well. Stay warm!
Hey - you did congratulate me - thanks! :) I'm glad that one of my top companies just happened to be interviewing early in the cycle.
Hope things worked out for you. I know Kevin. A couple of other people were there too - all were good people to (potentially) be working with.
Oh, drop me a email at fromcali08@gmail.com. I may be in NYC and would love to actually meet you.
hey marina
hope all is well at CBS and your not drowning in work and stress...
oh and happy HAPPY Valentine's Day
Dear MBA--
I am currently an Oxford University MBA and we have a project where we must propose an Entrepreneurial Project and write a business plan for it. My group is proposing the launch of a magazine aimed specifically at the top 20 MBA programs throughout the world. We are looking to analyze readership trends and desired content so that we can get a better idea of our targeted audience. As you are at one of the top 20 MBA programs worldwide, your input is greatly appreciated. The attached survey will help with our analysis, take less than 5 minutes and is completely anonymous. Furthermore, if you could pass this along to your classmates, the more input the greater the survey population, the better!

Time for an update, Marina. How are you doing?
Missed you at the happy hour the other day. Berkeley was in town. I was hoping to spot you, but the place was a madhouse.
Congratulations on the summer job.
